  • We need Parent/family volunteers

    Cafeteria Volunteers

    Volunteer Info:

We need three to six volunteers to work from 10:40 – 12:20 each day to help manage the cafeteria with the growth of our student body.  The third, fourth and fifth graders do not require assistance.  Lunch periods begin at 10:55 so arriving at 10:40 will allow for preparation and updates from Mr. Ward.

    Volunteer Roles:

    1)      Assisting students in opening containers and packages.

    2)      Reminding students of sitting on benches until they ask for permission to move.

    3)      Cleaning and wiping off tables.

    4)      Not responsible for correcting or disciplining students. (Para or Amity role)

    5)      Not responsible for lining up students to depart cafeteria. (Para or Amity role)

    Volunteer Schedule:

Ideally volunteers would commit to one day a week for a month or more at a time, for instance, “Tuesdays in October” for continuity.  All help is welcome, however, so whenever you are able to assist, THANK YOU!

The Pre-K and Kindergarten teachers have requested that parents of these age students not volunteer until after the first quarter.  It is disruptive for the younger children to have their parents present until they have settled in to their new routines.

    Schedule:

    Pre K (Kern & Kern)                                        10:55 – 11:20

    Second Spanish                 11:45-12:10

    Second French         11:55 – 12:20

    Third Grade 12:05-12:40

Hispanic Festival
  • Hispanic Festival - volunteer opportunity for French Families Only
    French Parents -

The Festival Hispano is an annual tradition at Eisenhower International celebrated by our Spanish Immersion program and enjoyed by all EIS students.  After the evening performance, the children and their families will enjoy Pan Dulce in the cafeteria.  We need our French family volunteers to help with set up, serving and clean-up so our Spanish families can enjoy their evening. The performance will be held the evening ofThursday, September 17th.  Sign up to volunteer at: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f4da4af22a4fc1-hispanic

Friday Home & Back Folders
  • Home and Backs
Change to this:  Home and Backs are the folders that go home weekly with your student.  These will be filled with important information from the school, registration forms for after school classes and sports, Run registrations, etc.  As the school grows, the job is getting bigger and the home and back chair can use as many extra sets of hands to help stuff the folders.  This is a great way to get in some hours weekly or just now and then. We meet in the PTA Room at 10am each Friday. Contact Debbie Bohling at bohlingfamily@gmail.com
Class Photographers
  • Many classes are still looking for class photographers.
This doesn't have to be a big job and it's the perfect job to share!  The class photographers help make sure we have representation of all classes for the yearbook. Photos of field trips, parties, hispanic festival/mardi gras, playground time, etc. are ideal.  If you're unable to attend each event, you can coordinate with other parents who will be there to make sure one of them is taking photos and help get them to Stephanie Kern, Yearbook Coordinator and Pre-K teacher at EIS.yearbook@yahoo.com.  Please let your Home Room Parents know if you are interested in helping out.
Library
  • Library Helpers
Volunteers are needed and welcomed any time of the day to assist with covering books, shelving, and any little odd jobs Mrs. McCrary might need.  It is surprising how many books need shelving everyday. Special need this year:  The library is in critical need for volunteers between 8:20 to 9:00am. One person is needed each morning to take a library cart down the halls and collect returned books outside the classroom.  Returned books will then need to be sorted by language for the librarian to check them in via the computer.  Please contact Karen Hiller at 88keyskaren@gmail.com to volunteer.
Fiestivale
  • Fiestivale

Fiestivale is EIS only major fundraser for the year.  Save the date for this year's event, Saturday February 276 pm, Greenwood Cultural Center.  If you would like to serve on a committee for this year's event, contact Shelley Heckenkemper heck1019@yahoo.com

Book Fair
  • EIS Mini Language Book Fair

Don't miss the EIS Mini Language Book Fair on Thursday, August 27th!   Eisenhower's first Book Fair of the year will be held before, during, and after "Back to School Night" on the 27th from 5:30 - 8:30 pm.  The Book Fair will be held in the lobby outside of the Emily Wood Room.  This is a "mini" fair and the books are primarily in French and Spanish.  This fair is a wonderful way to begin or expand your child's foreign language library.
We also need experienced volunteers to help with the fair throughout the evening.  Please sign up at this link if you would like to help out. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c054daba62fa46-back
