Grant Opportunities for Teachers
Before applying for a grant, be sure to contact Rochelle Klein at kleinro@tulsaschools.org to get a copy of the Grant Application Approval Form and the Assumption of Responsibility Form.
The Office of Federal Programs and Special Projects must receive both completed forms and a copy of the grant application before submission.


International Sister Classrooms (K-12):  Challenge 20/20 is an Internet-based program that pairs classes at any grade level (K-12) from schools in the U.S.
with their counterpart classes in schools in other countries; together the teams (of two or three schools) tackle real global problems to find solutions that can
be implemented at the local level and in their own communities.

Early Childhood and Technology (PK-12):  $500 to $5,000 to support early childhood education
projects directly related to creativity and technology/communication projects that advance learning

Grants for French Teachers to Train in France: Each year, the Cultural Services Department of the French Embassy offers a number of grants to qualified primary and secondary school teachers of French who would like to enhance their knowledge of French culture and improve their language and teaching skills.
The program includes:
- Tuition and training fees for 2 weeks
- A round-trip train ticket from Paris to the destination city Program participants receive grants covering a portion of their accommodation and food expenses.

DonorsChoose.org
DonorsChoose.org is a nonprofit website that connects teachers with classroom needs with donors who want to help. Teachers submit project proposals for materials their students need to learn, such as books, technology and science equipment. These ideas become a reality when concerned individuals choose projects to fund. Students write thank-you notes to donors. No deadline.

Grants for Great Ideas
A program funding innovative projects that cost up to $500 that are available to public school educators committed to enhancing the classroom experience through the exploration of creative ideas and implementation of innovative teaching techniques. Dealine is April 1st.

Ezra Jack Keats Mini-Grants
$500 for classroom projects, deadline is September 15.

The Innovation in Education program provides grants, up to $2,500 each, to public and private schools (grades K-12) in the Tulsa and Oklahoma City metro areas. The purpose of this program is to fund classroom curriculum and school-wide programs that promote students’ ingenuity and imagination through the innovative use of technology.Applications will be accepted through March 1. NEA Foundation for Learning and Leadership
Professional development grants for individuals ($2000) and small groups ($5000), rolling application with February 1, June 1 and October 15 reviews.

Fund For Teachers grants - Oklahoma educators can apply for education grants of up to $10,000 for summer 2010, but they must do so quickly as the January 29, 2010 deadline is fast approaching. Unlike other educational grants, Fund for Teachers gives teachers the freedom to design an experience that will most impact their lives, their profession, and their community. Arts - P. Buckley Moss Foundation offers $1,000 to aid and support teachers who wish to establish an effective learning tool using the arts in teaching children who learn differently. Deadline: September 30, 2010

Fine Arts Grant
- The Betty Bradstreet Assistance Fund provides money for the arts and elementary, middle and high school fine arts teachers are encouraged to apply by January 31, 2010. Applications are available from Ann Tomlins, tomlian@tulsaschools.org, and should be sent to the Assistance League’s office at 3408 E. 11 St., Tulsa, OK 74112.

TRC Disaster Solutions Partners in Education grant program

Sprint Character Education Grant Program - School-based grant ranging from $500-5000 per school for character education curriculum/teacher training or for community/service learning projects. Deadline: February 5.

Award for Global Understanding is given by NCSS to recognize a social studies educator (or a team of educators) who has made notable contributions in helping social studies students increase their understanding of the world. $2,000 award and a free trip to NCSS annual conference. Target offers Art and Culture in Schools Grants to K-12 schools, libraries, and nonprofits that bring arts and cultural experiences directly to their students. These programs must have a curriculum component. Grants are worth $2,000. Deadline April 30.
