Hello My Name Is...

Rosa Benavides

I love teaching! I remember as a third grade child I would go to my bedroom with the door closed for hours and pretend I was a teacher. My father would always give me chalk and spray paint black a big piece of plywood and when I wore out my chalkboard my father again would provide another one. Sometimes I would use my brother and sister as my students. My mother always read to me or I would read to her every night.

Teaching is a very giving and satisfying profession. I love working with children in providing the best learning experience they will ever have. I believe all children can learn providing they are in a positive learning environment.

Children can achieve their highest potential when we as adults respect their uniqueness. Adapting to the child’s uniqueness can be a challenge at times. This is where the support of colleagues and parents come into play.

Providing as many purposeful, diverse activities as possible in the classroom makes the learning process enriching.  So much brain research backs this up to improve motivation, boost attention and build lifelong learners.
