Dear Parents,
Hopefully, you have had a wonderful summer. I found myself by the pool dreaming of snow!!! Wow, has it been hot!! My husband is missing the green of our grass. Although the bright side is less mowing.
We are looking forward to school starting in 24 days. That is hard to believe but alas true. The team is still busy readying the building. Ms. Gonzales and I both will be returning next Monday, August 1, 2022, on site. She and the summer team have done an excellent job running summer school at the Zarrow site. We have maintained approximately five hundred students during the duration of the program. Way to go students and parents for their commitment and dedication to learning.
We have much to do in the next two weeks to welcome your students back! It is an exciting time. We have new staff, new students, new curriculum, new roles, new staff positions and a new Humanities class – STEAM! We are super excited about all these things and look forward to sharing them with you on August 16th during our Orientation for PreK and Kinder students in the morning and our drop off school supplies option of “Meet the Teacher” for first - fifth grades during the afternoon (details below).
I will be sending out more information regarding the opening of school as we move forward. Principals will be meeting with district teams in the next two weeks to get comprehensive information around meals, buses, expectations, COVID procedures/protocols and more.
I am truly looking forward to the possibilities of this year. Taking that step with confidence that greatness is ahead for all. We can move together in the direction of positively impacting our student’s lives and language learning experiences. Success is attainable and the path is forward.

- August 16, 2022 “Orientation for PreK & Kindergarten” @ 8:15 – 10:30am
- August 16, 2022 “Meet the Teacher” First – Fifth Grades @ 1:00 – 3:00pm (Optional) Drop off supplies, meet teacher, drop of medicine/paperwork, tour building, fill out paperwork: My Way Home, fieldtrip form for Manion Park, join PTA, visit new Spirit Wear Shop (inside library). Come and go event.
- September 8, 2022 “Back to School Parent Curriculum Night” @ 4:30 – 6:00pm PreK – 5th Grade teachers host parents on classroom expectations/procedures/protocols (adults only) TBA time and schedule coming.
